I conveniently managed to get away about half 1 from my meeting at nearby
RAF Valley so straight over to Rhossy and sneak a windsurfin session
in.
Got there and there were 6 other people about to go out. My first time here
and the waves looked pretty big and meaty on the right hand side of the
bay.
One guy had just come in and was changing
down from a 5.4 as he was overpowered.
The 4.7 it was then.
I ended up buyin some new harness lines from the shop, rigged up and got
out.
I was overpowered from the word go so it was survival conditions for me
trynna hold down the 4.7. It ended up in loadsa catapults and some nice big
floaty jumps which were hard to land and landing downwind wasn't an option
I was that powered up.
It was gusty as hell which made life in harder so my arms were gone after
about an hour.
The wind then died down to a nice steady 30 knots out the back which was
ideal and I had some lovely wave rides in but I was really kanckered at
this point. The 6 others who were out on sails ranignin from 3.7s up to
4.5's were having a good time as well and there were a few doin backloops
and some forwards. cool!
I got too the point where I was stuggling to waterstart as I was that
knackered so I came in.
I spent a fair bit of time in the water and my new wetsuit did its job. I
never once got cold so stoked with that.
An awesome session, ashame about the gusty conditiions for the first hour
otherwise it woulda been an easy 5 star session.
Definatley gonna start makin trips down to Rhossy.
